U.S. Reed Scholarship

Process

Palestine Temple #18 of Prince Hall Shriners’ offers annual scholarships to Alabama high school students who have

been officially accepted into an accredited College or University. Palestine Temple #18 Scholarship Program offers

two $1,000 scholarships to deserving students.

REQUIREMENTS:

• All applicants must be a graduating Senior.

• All applicants must be graduating in the 2025/2026 school year.

• All applicants must have maintained a GPA of 2.5 or better.

• All applicants must complete the application in its entirety.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES:

1. Complete the application form below.

2. Attach Official High School transcript.

3. Submit a typewritten essay explaining the importance of a college education in today’s society. The essay must

be a minimum of 300 words and not more than 500 words.

4. Upload two Letters of Recommendations as listed below:

A. One from a Teacher or Guidance Counselor / B. One from a Community or Religious Leader

5. Attach a copy of your Official Acceptance Letter from the College or University you plan to attend.
